Abstract:AIM: To investigate the effect of improved irrigation for hyphema in the treatment of severe contusion hyphema.
METHODS: Totally 106 patients with severe contusion hyphema underwent viscoelastican and irrigation for hyphema through tunnel incision with urokinas.
RESULTS: The hyphema was clear in all patients but 2 cases were rebleeding. The surgery method was superior to the conventional operation in the aspects of vision, intra-ocular pressure and complication.
CONCLUSION:Improved irrigation for hyphema could be extended, the operating methods is simple, safe and effective.
