Abstract:AIM:To evaluate the surgical selection and its effect on glaucoma complicated with cataract.·METHODS:Seventy-two eyes with coexisting glaucoma and cataract underwent trabeculectomy, phacoemulsification and intraocular lens (IOL) implantation.Visual acuity, intraocular pressure(IOP),filtration state and postoperative complications were observed.·RESULTS:The visual acuity of 72 eyes improved quickly and remarkably. The postoperative IOP was normal.3 months and 18 months after surgery, the mean IOP was 15.30±2.64mmHg and 16.72±2.30mmHg respectively.72 eyes didn’t occur with serious complications.·CONCLUSION:Trabeculectomy combined with phacoemulsification and IOL implantation could control IOP effectively and improve visual acuity quickly and remarkably.
