    Abstract:

    ·AIM:To observe the efficiency and safety of 1g/L pranoprofen eye drop in dry eye patients with ocular surface inflammation.·METHODS:Sixty dry eye patients of our hospital from April 2008 to October 2008 were randomly divided into two groups,A group:1g/L pranoprofen combined with application of artificial tears eye drops,4 times per day.B group was the control group:artificial tears alone,4 times per day.Experimental treatment lasted for 14 days.All patients met the inclusion criteria,and the patients symptoms,signs,tear film break-up time(BUT),Schirmer Ⅰ test,fluorescein staining score and so on at 3,7,14 days after treatment were observed.Then the results of the two groups were compared and statistical analysis was carried out.·RESULTS:The effect of 1g/L pranoprofen combined with application of artificial tears eye drops in treatment of dry eye patients was superior to the effect of artificial tears alone,results of two groups were statistically significant at the 14th day.·CONCLUSION:Pranoprofen can effectively control ocular inflammation in patients with dry eye,and it is an effective drug in adjuvant treatment of dry eye syndrome.·
