Viral keratitis after intraocular surgery

    Abstract:

    ·AIM:To review and analyse the materials of 30 patients suffering from viral keratitis after intraocular surgery from 2007 to 2009 in our hospital.·METHODS:Thirty patients were included with 18 patients of cataract surgery;9 patients of vitrectomy and 3 patients of glaucoma surgery.The history of disease,time of onset symptoms ocular examnation and treatment were analyzed.·RESULTS:Eighteen patients had medical history of viral keratitis or severe viral conjunctivitis;6 patients had cold or gastral disease.All the patients had various degree irritative symptoms.All the patients had corneal invasive focus or arborization focus and recovered after antivirus therapy.·CONCLUSION:Viral keratitis after intraocular surgery is closely related with medical history of viral keratitis or severe viral conjunctivitis,low immunity,tear film stability,injure of corneal endothelium and mega-dose hormone after surgery.Early detection and treatment are the most important things.·
