    Abstract:

    ·AIM:To observe and analyse the clinical effect and promotive value in grass-roots hospitals of reverse implantation of spherical headed silicon tube in naso-lacrimal duct for the treatment of chronic dacryocystitis.·METHODS:Thirty-seven eyes of 35 cases with chronic dacryocystitis were treated with reverse implantation of spherical headed silicon tube in naso-lacrimal duct.·RESULTS:Thirty-seven eyes of 35 cases were followed up for 1 year,of which 34 eyes were cured with no epiphora and the secretions disappeared.3 eyes were ineffective and the cure rate was 92%.·CONCLUSION:Reverse implantation of spherical headed silicon tube in naso-lacrimal duct for the treatment of chronic dacryocystitis has a definite effect.It should be promoted in grass-roots hospitals because of its simplicity and low-cost.·
