AIM: To investigate the effects of viscoelastic solution in the repair of corneal penetrating injuries. METHODS: Thirtytwo cases 32 eyes of corneal penetrating injuries were retrospectively studied.14 eyes were treated with simply corneal penetrating injuries repairation,18 eyes with corneal penetrating injuries repairation and iridial injuries reconstruction. RESULTS: All cases were recovered well.Postoperative visual acuities were 0.050.25 in 7 eyes,0.30.5 in 18 eyes,0.60.8 in 7 eyes. CONCLUSION: Viscoelastic solution can be used in repair of corneal penetrating injury to form anterior chamber operative room and protect tissues in eyes.
