    Abstract:

AIM:To observe the distribution characteristics of M-ller cells of the normal rat retina in different levels.·METHODS:The morphological characteristics of the M-ller cells of the normal retina was studied by light microscopy and transmission electron microscope(TEM).·RESULTS:M-ller cells were not the relatively homogeneous distribution in every layer of the rat retina, which had the widest distribution in the inner plexiform layer, the ganglion cell layer and nerve fiber layer.·CONCLUSION:M-ller cells not only take part in composition of the stent of the rat retina, but also have the most active metabolism in the ganglion cell layer and nerve fiber layer. They are the important neuroglial cells.
