    Abstract:

    ·AIM:To explore relevant extraocular causes of ophthalmoparalysis.METHODS:Routine ophthalmologic and ocular muscle examination were performed in 157 patients of ophthalmoparalysis to use prism,synoptophore and red glass test,etc.Biochemical examination of blood and imaging diagnosis(CT,MRI,DSA)were also included.RESULTS:For the 157 cases,the extraocular causes were mainly diabetes(23.6%),intracranial vascular diseases(18.5%),craniocerebral trauma(15.9%),viral infection(10.8%),thyroid associated ophthalmopathy(7.0%),encephalic tumor(4.5%),myasthenia gravis(1.9%),nasopharyngeal carcinoma(1.9%),etc.CONCLUSION:The causes of ophthalmoparalysis are complicated.For patients with binocular diplopia cannot be explained by ocuar diseases,the patients should be examined carefully with a complete body and eyes to determine the causes.
