    Abstract:

    ·AIM:To observe effect of wearing glasses or not on the development of early true low myopia.METHODS:This retrospective study included patients aged 8-12 years old in school from 2007 to 2009.The patients who had complete case record were chosen at first visit to our hospital.Diopter was between-0.50DS and-2.00DS.They were divided into 2 groups,both with cycloplegic mydriasis medical optometry.Group 1:no wearing glasses group(24 eyes);group 2:wearing glasses group(28 eyes),the development of myopia were compared with Student’s t-test in two groups.RESULTS:Degree of myopia was increased to-2.07±0.52D in the first group,that in the second group was-1.49±0.48D,the difference was significant(P<0.01).CONCLUSION:The development of myopia is rapid if myope do not wear glasses.People with more than-0.50D of myopia should wear glasses to see farther,which can improve retinal image quality,so parents can get rid of misunderstanding of no wearing glasses for myopia.
