    Abstract:

    AIM:To analyze the clinical efffect of vitrectomy for vitreous hemorrhages.METHODS:Twenty-one cases(21 eyes)with vitreous hemorrhages underwent vitrectomy,their visual acuity was observed and the factors causing vitreous hemorrhages were analyzed.RESULTS:Of all the 21 cases,best-corrected visual acuity at last follow-up was:counting fingers-0.05 in 4 cases,≥0.05-0.3 in 12 cases,≥0.3 in 5 cases,off-blindness rate(visual acuity≥0.05)was 81%,off-disability rate(visual acuity≥0.3)was 24%.The first three leading causes of vitreous hemorrhage were branch vein occlusion,retinal breaks without detachment and diabetic retinopathy,accounting for 76% in all.CONCLUSION:Vitrectomy for vitreous hemorrhage is a safe and effective method,most patients can significantly improve their visual acuity after operation.
