    Abstract:

    ·AIM:To investigate efficacy,complications and treatment of phacoemulsification and intraocular lens(IOL)implantation for cataract with high myopia.·METHODS:Form November 2006 to December 2009,48 patients 53 eyes underwent phacoemulsification,the results of treatment and complications were analyzed.·RESULTS:The results were followed up for 3 to 6 months.3 months after surgery,axial length was<30mm in a total of 45 eyes,visual acuity was ≥ 0.5 in 31 eyes(58%);axial length was 30mm in a total of 8 eyes,visual acuity was ≥ 0.5 in 2 eyes(4%).Intraoperative complications:posterior capsule rupture in 6 eyes(11%).Postoperative complications:corneal edema in 16 eyes(30%),wound leakage in 2 eyes(4%),delayed uveitis in 4 eyes(8%).·CONCLUSION:Phacoemulsification and IOL implantation is a safe and effective method for cataract with high myopia,without serious complications.·
