Abstract:AIM:To discuss the successful experience of primary hospital doctors in surgery transition from small incision non-phacoemulsification cataract surgery to phacoemulsification·METHODS: The treatment result and complications of 61 cases(64 eyes) which underwent phacoemulsification and intraocular lens(IOL) implantation surgery from June 2010 to June 2011 during the author surgery transition period were analyzed·RESULTS:Totally 60 cases of 63 eyes were operated well.One case was of posterior capsule rupture with vitreous loss.Postoperative visual acuity of 32 eyes(50%) were better than 0.3 after a week.Postoperative visual acuity of 30 eyes(47%) were greater than 0.5 and 2 eyes(3%) were lower than 0.1.The main complications during operation:5 eyes(8%)were of posterior capsule rupture.The main Postoperative complications:19 eyes(30%) were of corneal edema·CONCLUSION:The primary hospital doctors are also able to transform smoothly from a small incision non-phacoemulsification cataract surgery to phacoemulsification
