    Abstract:

    To evaluate the effects of intravitreal triamcinolone acetonide (TA) injection combined with laser photocoagulation on diabetic macular edema(DME). METHODS: Fourty-four cases (65 eyes) with DME were selected and treated by intravitreal TA injection first and laser photocoagulation at postoperative 1 month. RESULTS:In this group, 27 eyes were markedly effective,33 eyes were effective.Significant efficiency was 41.5%,total efficiency was 92.3%.Retinal detachment, intraocular hemorrhage, infectious endophthalmitis and other complications could not be found during follow-up. CONCLUSION:Intravitreal TA injection combined with laser photocoagulation has significant curative effect, less adverse reaction and can significantly improve visual acuity, relieve macular edema. It is a safe and effective approach to patients with DME.
