    Abstract:

    AIM: To study the clinical therapy effect for fungal keratitis with local shallow ‘slope type flap appearance' lamellar corneal excision.

    METHODS: Fifty-three eyes diagnosed with fungal keratitis were treated with the local shallow ‘slope type flap appearance' lamellar corneal excision.

    RESULTS: In 53 patients 53 eyes, 48 eyes corneal epithelial were basically healed in 3 to 10 days after operation. It cost an average of 6.6±3.4 days for repairing corneal epithelial, and the time for anterior chamber inflammation and artial flash was 20.2 ±15.1 days, visual recovered≥0.05. The pre-operative visual acuity compared with post-operative visual acuity, it showed significant differences(t=10.40, P<0.01).

    CONCLUSION: It is an effective method of local shallow ‘slope type flap appearance' lamellar corneal excision treatment for fungal keratitis.
