    Abstract:

AIM: To discuss the therapeutic effect of autologous serum subconjunctival injection in treatment of allergic conjunctivitis.

METHODS: Sixty-four cases of allergic conjunctivitis were divided into treatment group(32 cases)and control group(32 cases), two groups had no significant difference in age, sex, clinical situation and causation of disease(P >0.05). Autologous serum subconjunctival injection was used in the treatment group, one time a week, four times in one course of treatment. Olopatadine was used in control group, two times a day.

RESULTS: After four weeks treatment, the cure rate in treatment group and control group was 84.4% and 90.6%, respectively. The difference between the two groups was not statistically significant(χ2=0.571, P>0.25).

CONCLUSION: Treating allergic conjunctivitis with autologous serum subconjunctival injection has the same therapeutic effect as olopatadine.
