    Abstract:

    Open angle glaucoma is one kind of glaucoma, and also one of the leading causes of blindness. In recent years, the incidence of open angle glaucoma and the rate of blindness caused by it are increasing year by year, whereas its etiology is still not clear. Recently, researchers have found that there might be certain correlation between metabolic syndrome with its components and the occurrence and the development of open angle glaucoma, on which there is not any common understanding yet. In this paper, we try to provide a brief review on the researches of open angle glaucoma and metabolic syndrome.
