Abstract:AIM:To analyze the eye conditions of land forces, and to investigate the pathogeny and prevention of eye diseases.METHODS: A total of 3586 soldiers were divided into groups according to service years, detailed ophthalmo- logical examinations were performed. The data of each group were analyzed and compared respectively.RESULTS: The soldiers with eye diseases were 263 cases(7.33%),and the main diseases included unqualified visual acuity, disease of cornea, acute uveitis, ocular fundus diseases, traumatic cataract and glaucoma. There were significant statistical differences between different groups on incidence of eye disease and unqualified visual acuity. The case rate of oculopathy among the soldiers who undertook myoporthosis operation was obviously higher than those didn’t take the operation, and there was statistical difference (P<0.01),mainly on unqualified visual acuity, xerophthalmia and ocular fundus diseases.CONCLUSION: This ophthalmological examination is helpful to find out the eye condition and prevent and cure the oculopathy of land forces, as well as ensure better physical quality and raise battle power of troop.
