Abstract:AIM:To compare the curative effect on allergic conjunctivitis between azelastine hydrochloride eye drops and emedastine difumarate eye drops. METHODS:Two groups with allergic conjunctivitis were treated with azelastine hydrochloride eye drops and emedastine difumarate eye drops separately, twice a day, one drop per time,at interval of 12 hours, the treatment stopped after 14 days. The follow-up observations were done in 3 days, 7 days and 14 days during treatment as well as 7 days after finishing treatment. RESULTS:With 3 days treatment, the differences between these two groups on curative ratio(P<0.05) and effective ratio (P<0.01) were significant. But with 7 days and 14 days treatment as well as 7 days after treatment, the differences were not significant. CONCLUSION:On the treatment for allergic conjunctivitis, both of azelastine hydrochloride eye drops and emedastine difumarate eye drops have safe effect, but in the early stage, the effect of azelastine hydrochloride eye drops is better and more obvious.
