Macular hole is a retinal disease that seriously threatens vision. With the progress of science and technology and the improvement of examination methods, understanding this disease has been further clarified. This article reviews the latest advances in pathogenesis, diagnosis, classification, healing process, prognosis, closure mode, and treatment macular hole, in order to help ophthalmologists formulate surgery.
