Abstract:AIM: To discuss the clinical effect of artificial tears combined with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory eye drops in treating dry eye in preschool children. METHODS: Thirty-two preschool children (64 eyes) diagnosed with dry eye were treated with artificial tears and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory eye drops, the clinical symptoms,the grade of tear film interferometry image, the height of tear meniscus were observed on the pre-treatment and 1 month after treatment.Statistical analysis was conducted. RESULTS:After treated for 1 month, the clinical symptoms were relieved obviously, the grade of tear film interferometry image and the height of tear meniscus were improved.The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: The subjective symptoms and results of laboratory examination in treating dry eye in preschool children were improved after treated with artificial tears and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory eye drops, this method has a significant curative effect, medication safety and no adverse reaction in children.
