Glaucoma is a multiple factor affecting irreversible blindness. Ocular hypertension is the most important risk factor. It is generally believed that the higher the intraocular pressure is, the greater the intraocular pressure fluctuation, the more serious the glaucomatous optic nerve damage is. Changes in body and local factors may affect the intraocular pressure of patients, and body position is one of the important factors. The influence of body position on intraocular pressure in glaucoma patients is generally greater than that in normal subjects. Therefore, the relationship between position and intraocular pressure plays an important role in the daily diagnosis and management of glaucoma, and it is also getting more and more attention of the ophthalmologists. This article mainly reviews the recent research and possible mechanism of the body position on intraocular pressure.
