Abstract:Endothelial dysfunctionis traditionally considered irreversible, and endothelial keratoplasty(EK)is almost the only treatment available. Recently, however, a surgery called descemetorhexis without endothelial keratoplasty(DWEK)can regenerate the central corneal endothelial cells in patients with Fuchs endothelial corneal dystrophy(FECD), and local Rho-associated kinase inhibitor can enhance its efficacy.
