Abstract:Objective o investigate the effect of a new type of rhinodacryocystostomy combined with fluticasone propionate on visual acuity, quality of life, and recurrence rate in patients with chronic dacryocystitis. Method? In this study, 100 patients with chronic dacryocystitis admitted to the Affiliated Hospital of Xiangnan University between January 2021 and December 2022 were enrolled. The patients in the study were divided into a control group (n=50) and an observation group (n=50) based on their admission order and number. Patients in the control group were treated with endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy, while patients in the observation group were treated with a new type of rhinodacryocystostomy combined with fluticasone propionate. The efficacy, visual acuity, quality of life, and recurrence of chronic dacryocystitis were compared between the two groups. Result? The efficacy of patients in the observation group after treatment was better than that of patients in the control group, with significant differences between the data (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in visual acuity between the two groups before and after treatment (P>0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference in the quality of life scores between the two groups of patients after statistical software analysis (P>0.05); After treatment, the quality of life scores of patients in the control group, including physical function, psychological function, social function, and material life status, were lower than those in the observation group. There was a significant difference in data comparison between the two groups (P<0.05). The recurrence rate of chronic dacryocystitis in the control group was higher than that in the observation group, and there was a significant difference in data comparison between the two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion The use of a new type of rhinodacryocystostomy combined with fluticasone propionate treatment for chronic dacryocystitis patients has a good therapeutic effect, can improve the quality of life of patients, and reduce the probability of disease recurrence.
